i bought a hd-130 reverb chassis 2275-130 and the serial # is b003508 it has the little 12ax7a tube with the metal holder w/spring. as well as 4 el34 6ca7 with it i got a 412 gs cabnet. i look on the catalog page and i think its a 1977.its VERY VERY clean. the only thing missing is a footswitch. i would love to buy on if anyoine has one for sale. i ordered a fender switch (rca) but i rather have an original. i have a 50 cal. plus mesa boogie and i just as soon throw it in the trash than ever play it again. this is one hell of an amp. thank you | ||

Your amp falls between 1974 and 1977 or so. To be sure, take the chassis out of the cabinet and look for inspection or test markings that may include enough digits to date it! Steve | ||

I have a HD-212 130 I am trying to date it.The chassis number is 2475-130 serial no.c001408,it has the 12ax7a valve ,reverb and tremelo.This amp is all original ,I think, it still has american made sylvania valves. The speakers have 12-801 67-7614 printed on the metal plates on the back of the magnets. I hope someone can help! Also can the 12ax7a valve be replaced with a 12ax7 ? Is this the same thing? Everyone should have one of these amps they sound great. What a clean tone. | ||

Speakers manufactured the 14th week of 1976. So figure late '76 early '77. | ||

That 12AX7A reference was a typo... I meant to say 12AX7 originally. A good quality 12AX7 is important for reliability. It is better to buy a JAN Philips equivalent than an Eastern European or Chinese model. Steve |
