Last year I purchased, off EBay, a HD130 Amp head (from one of the worst EBayers out there) and the reverb was dead. I also noticed the tremlo would not work if the tank was plugged in, it would if unpluged...also the foot switch was chopped off????The tank was just rattling around inside the head as it wasnt screwed in... before plunking down 30-40 bucks, is there anything else that could cause no reverb and what else can I do to check the tank?...thanks |

First, check the jacks you are using. The footswitch jacks and reverb tank jacks are close to each other. Take a standard RCA phone cable and connect the black & red jacks on the underside of the chassis that form a pair. If they are the jacks that correspond to the reverb connections you should be able to play through the amp and vary the loudness of something with the Reverb control. It may not sound good but it should vary the loudness. If nothing happens try the other pair of jacks. If neither set of jacks seems to allow audio adjustment through the Reverb pot then there is a problem in the amp circuitry. The amp has to be working before you can check the Reverb tank easily. I know this is an older post, but it would be nice to have clarification. Are you/Is Steve, saying to jump/short the female RCA jacks? Would I do the same thing on my HD combo that has the connection underneath the chassis? Thanks. Brian W. |
