If you thought finding information about your Music Man amp was difficult, trying looking for information on the guitars!
The original (pre-Ernie Ball) Music Man guitars (i.e. Sting Ray I) had a rocky start due in part to "bad necks". The early MM necks had no natural bow for the truss rod to work against. This resulted in no fingerboard relief (which caused string rattles).
While the neck problems (a story all by itself!) were fixed early on, the MM guitars that followed had an undeserved "cloud" hovering over them and they never achieved the popularity many felt they deserved.
