Hi everyone. I have a 112 RP 65. I love this amp. It is only the reverb that is a let down. Only when set to 10, do I get a bit of reverb sound. I am no expert with amps / electronics. I eventually gathered up courage to open the PVC reverb bag to take a look. The reverb tank it has is a 'Cascade Reverberation Device' Type: 271 Made by O.C. Electronics Inc; there are no other specifications on it. I would like to ask a few questions, if I may. 1. Is this an original tank. Did Music Man install O.C. Electronic Reverb units? 2. If O.C Electronic products were originally installed by Music Man, is this Type 271 the original for this model? On exploring, I found someone in the past had opened sealed tank, and then held the bottom with tapes. 3. Is it possible, that someone has replaced the original with a non-compatible unit? Also, the red lead is now connected to the Output (and the black to the input). 4. Is that how it is intended? I would have thought the red would go into the Input. Thanks again for your help. I am indeed happy that I found this forum. I find there is hardly any support / information about MM amps on the internet or on other guitar forums. |

I would start off by just switching the leads and see what happens. The input and output of most MM tanks are VASTLY different in load so you would get almost nothing if it was backwards. AND, it won't hurt anything to switch them. I don't remember them using anything other than accutronics but but I haven't seen enough rd's to be able to be an authority. |
