Guys, I have a great sounding HD One-Thirty (with the 12AX7) that I just had checked out and cleaned by my local amp tech. He says it's all pretty good (even the origianal Sylvanias), but that the power capaciators will need to be replaced relatively soon. My questions: 1) what sort of capacitors were used in the original MM amps? 2) can I still get these original (perhaps NOS) style capacitors? Any information would be appreciated. Many thanks! All the best, Mike Burduck

Hi Mike Musicman used mallory caps you can not get them unless some one put a few back for there amp, or you buy a semi load form Mallory. The yellow caps were Mallory 150 caps and they did come with other names on them. Most of the caps you can replace with TVA Atom Sprague . All but the 450V/100, Sprague are to big use XICON or IC Illinonis Capacitor. |

Thanks very much, Terry. I'll see what my amp tech can find! All the best, Mike |
