Hello, I recently bought a 412GS to use mainly with my Wurlitzer electric piano, which will drive an 8 ohm cab via the internal amplifier. The cab sounds great, and all four speakers appear to be properly connected, but one driver is much louder than the others - it sometimes seems to be the only one producing any real volume. Two of the speakers are original, and two are reconed. The strongest of the speakers is one of the recones. It is the upper left-side speaker. So, today, while using the cab in another rig (Hohner Pianet into G-K 200MB amplifier), I seem to have blown this strongest sounding speaker. There's a slight fuzzy sound coming from it. I did check the wiring and impedance before using the cabinet, and apart from volume discrepancies from one driver to the next, everything seemed to be in order until this evening's practice. So, sorry to have rambled here... Can someone tell me how much is too much to pay for a recone? Can anyone recommend a shop in the Atlanta area for a recone? I do not have the cab opened up right now, but I remember the speakers themselves being unmarked - I believe they are Eminence, but can someone confirm the speaker model? Regards, Andrew |
