OK. A fuse has blown, and a tube looks blackened (and yes, it was being played loudly at 130). But first, I have to replace the fuse and see if it goes again. It says 4GC 5A. I've looked very carefully. It does not say AGC. The guy at the hardware store says he's never seen "4GC" before. What's the proper replacement?. Can I go with the AGC-5BC he sold me? |

I have never seen a 4GC fuse either! I am sure this must have been a typo. Of course, by now you have no doubt already tried it. Any AGC 5A fuse should work for the test. Steve

I am doing some amp cleaning today and noticed that the fuse in my amp is a 250Volt 5 amp rating ... all my past training tells me that at 250 volts 5 amps would take 2 times the current to blow it over a 120 volt 5 amp. |
