hi. does anyone know the correct model number for a 15 inch JBL or EVM or Altec speaker for guitar? i used an Altec 421 (a bass speaker, i think) way back when and it blew out, so now i'm thinking that i need a speaker specifically for guitar. anyone have any ideas? thanks. |

I don't have any model numbers off the top of my head, but a visit to some speaker company web sites should help you find the right kind of speaker. You could also consider Eminence, Weber and Celestion. Using a bass speaker will usually make your guitar sound a bit tubby with little high frequency energy. A guitar speaker is usually lighter construction with quicker reaction to input signals so it has better response. You can use a bass speaker without too much worry of hurting it (they are usually much heavier duty than guitar speakers in the first place)but you may not care for the tone. Steve

what was the original speaker for a 115HD? the amp given to me has an old pioneer 12" mounted in it. Are replacements available?, or do i just choose my own brand? |

Eminence or EV's in original MM but you can put what you like as long as it will handle the wattage and the ohms
