I recently purchased a Fender Lone Star Strat and a Music Man RD50 with what I pressume to be a Music Man 412 88 speaker box. I am most interested in learning about the amp. I have heard that Music Man amps are highly coveted. I am a total guitar novice, but I really enjoy the warm tones from this amp. Before cleaning the amp up, I wanted to make sure it was worth the effort.

The RD50 in its' combo models (110RD-50 and 112-RD-50) were very popular choices among the guitar elite in the '80s for a great sounding highly-portable guitar amp. Eric Clapton, Chet Atkins and Eddie VanHalen were all owners and users of these little wonders.

Whether it fits YOUR needs is up to you alone but the model has a good reputation and the combo models enjoy high re-sale values and continued popularity. There seems to have been more combo models made than heads, but they all have the same basic circuitry in common.
