I just put some of the EH 6CA7's in my 65-2X12.
So far so good...all I did was plug them in and play. It was a huge improvement over the Sovtek EL34's that were in there.

I think they run about $80 a matched pair.

I had a quad of EH 6CA7's put into my HD-130. I play bass, and was hearing some slight distortion when I played my Jazz bass (with roundwounds), but didn't notice it as much when I used my Beatle Bass (with flats). The amp volumes were both on about 5, with the Deep switch engaged. I was playing into a 4-ohm single 15" cabinet. Could the distortion be a result of biasing?

It is possible that the tubes weren't biased properly. It is also possible that your filter caps may need replacing to stiffen the power supply so it can better stand up to the low frequency energy-delivery demands that result from playing bass through it.

I installed and biased my HD130 Reverb with EH6CA7's and have been playing the for 2 weeks, so far they sound GREAT! I bought a matched quad from "The Tube Store". I've been playing them using the HI and LOW power switch to test them. I have NO serious GLOW issues, and I'll keep monitoring it for longevity. The Quad came out to about $60US shipped.
