The great jazz guitarist Herb Ellis. It looks like both guitarists have each a SF twin, and an MM. One MM is white.

Notice where the microphones are pointing? To the Music Man112RD-50s of course! This is the first time I have seen a concert photo with two of these rascals in it and BOTH flavors to boot! Those are mighty fine stands those MM amps are sitting on! Steve

The "other guitar player" is/was a fellow named Terry. I can't recall his last name, but he was Herb's protege for many years and was engaged in writing a biography of Herb Ellis entitled "Herbie and Me" when he was struck down by cancer. I've met and spoken to both of them, once at a gig they did locally. Terry was much loved by Herb and his death hit him hard. Terry was a proficient and tasteful guitarist in his own right, and they often exchanged licks on stage...you can see them looking at each other in the picture on this page and you can easily see that they are enjoying each other. Just thought I'd add this little morsel...good photo! Where and when was it taken, anyone know? |

Thanks John for the additional info. Herb happens to be one of my favorite guitarists. I don't know when the picture was taken. I scanned this picture from his VHS tutorial tape cover. |
