I had an overheating/'glowing' problem with my 212-HD130 when playing on warm nights. Inspecting the electronics, I discovered that the power supply rectifier board had been arcing to the chassis. Remounting the board using spacers to increase the distance between it and the chassis solved the problem. |

Wow! That's a new one, although it doesn't surprise me. Did that amp not have any fish paper between the board and ground? Don't know if that would cure it anyway, now that I think of it. Not much else you could have done, although I think I would look at that board and make sure one of the traces didn't get arc cut and give you later problem. The traces on that board are pretty flimsy like all the rest and could burn through and leave you hanging. Nice catch though. |
