Hi there guys, now you know how musicman combos have amp glides, well the heads dont right, the have a big rubber foot that goes from front to back (x2) with a nickel plated steel reinforcer. I had a chance to rob a head of these and put them on my combo and now i want to do the same to a combo i am restoring, can you get these anywhere? or do you have to make them? perhaps someone is selling some second handee's?? Thanks in advance. |

I've never seen them on anything but MM's. They are hard to come by. I would check out fleabay but I wouldn't hold my breath-there were just too few made. You'd really have to almost find a trashed head and steal them off of that. You might check with some tube repair places that might have saved old MM heads for parts that were too far gone to fix. Didn't realize you were in Australia. That would be one hell of a commute. I'll keep my eyes open-you never know. |

I have seen the rubber corner feet on one HD 130 head, and the metal corner pieces are slightly different as well. They are old seeming, corroded nicely...Possibly this was re-tolexed, but it sure looks original...old, and no sign of there having been 'glides' originally. Way early serial on this one, but who knows? There is a slight gap between chassis and grey fabric I haven't seen on any other head. Yes, glides show up on fleabay, and go fast. I think I saw a pair go for thirty something. |

Turns out this is w/o heat shield as well. Bought this as a package which came with 2 by 12 cabinet, custom, nice job, with two celestion vintage 30 lightweight jobs. They sound like paper tearing, but not bad when cleaned up. Seller wanted a lightweight package for shows. I can't see taking this old chassis out of it's box, so weird cab waits for a donor 65. This sold cheap, in my view, as poor description didn't indicate this to be among thee first produced. Knobs were sprayed with armour all so all the white is gone, but I like putting my head in the speakers when adjusting settings. Hell yes.... |
