My 212 HD130 is sounding too compressed. Especially during the warm up period, and not as much once the amp get warmed up, but enough to be a problem. Any suggestions on what might be the cause? |

Has the amp had a full cap job in the last 10 years? Has it had a properly biased new set of tubes in the last few years? I would suspect that the amp may need a cap job or some plate resistors replaced (in addition to a new set of tubes and biasing). Steve |

Had a partial cap job done, some plate resistors replaced, and new tubes. Must have missed some bad caps. |

All of the electrolytic caps ought to be replaced at the same time. If some are bad after 25 years, the others are or will be soon! Steve |
