ZTX 109 subs? Reverb RD50

The NTE 199 is the cross suggested by NTE, but I just installed them, they don't work (unless I screwed something-up - which is possible). The NTE 123AP is a switching transistor. Actually, the NTE 199 work rather well, as long as the moron who installs them installs them correctly with good solder joints! In fact, the reverb is now quite robust. I'm sure the BC550C work fine, but the NTE 199 which are also 100mA, are very robust. Thanks
