Hope this is the right place for this.... Just bought an HD-130 off of Ebay, works great sounds great. I noticed it has 6l6's, they look pretty new. From what I've been able to tell off of the board it probably should have EL34's. Looking at the PC board, it's a 1979 model (signed Tina 8/8/79), doesn't appear to be any mods. The tube chart in the case says EL34's as well. So my question is, how do I tell if it should have the 6l6's or EL34's? Some threads here on the board say "check the resistors on the tube sockets", but what am I looking for? how do I tell if it was supposed to have 6l6's or EL34's? If it is a EL-34 model, will running 6l6's hurt it? I know going the other way is a definite no-no. Thanks in advance! john |
