Hi, I am wondering why electrolytic coupling capacitors are used in the HD150 after op-amps. Is this necessary? What effect does this have on the circuit, and it's sound? Any info is appreciated. |

Some have used different mylar and metal film caps in some amps but they can be a little warmer and may take up much more space. Have you seen a 20uf mylar or metal film cap or similar caps? they are huge! The electrolytics, I think give the amp more briter attack and are very articulate, but maybe a little too brite for some, none the less these amps can and do sound awesome! |
