Too easy to add an LED, and .1 cap to make a working footswitch for your MM. (This was a $10 Peavey that I had used once before for a Fender substitute, hence the other LED). /image{switch1} /imsge{switch2} } |

Guess I don't know where the prompt is to unload images, have to try again when I have more time. |

Right prompt-just don't change the word in the bracket. Leave it be and paste the whole thing in. Mike. |

No-copy and paste the line and LEAVE the word description in there. Use the whole thing as is. Mike. |

Hi Bill- just noticed this: good work I have one of these peaveys too.. will have a go at adding led's later then. Can you tell me tho: assuming your 'select' is not a channel switch but used for distortion on/off(?).. how have you wired the plug end of the peavey? (these had/ mine has a 1/4" plug on: your amp has two rca sockets?). Thanks rc |

Rory, I soldered 2 RCA jacks to the original cord. (Solder the ground lead to the reverb connector). |

Hi Bill- thing is (call me a dumbass) b but i got three wires from the PVY lead, and two rca plugs. 3 into 2 makes me unhappy and grumpy.. So if I solder wire 3 (the 'shield') to one rca plug's outer part & say red wire 2 to this tip- then I have the other rca plug tip to black wire 1.. & its outer part not connected to anything: so it cant work, can it? |

Rory look at the pic of the footswitch I posted. The ground wire goes to both switches, my schematic showed the ground tied to the reverb at the RCA, so that's how I wired it. The switches work, by shorting the control wire to ground, (ground is the same for both of course). |

Aha got that thanks. Ive just knocked a couple of plugs onto my PVY like ypurs.. and footswitch works! both rev and tremolo('effects'). Great stuff. Now Ive just tried your led thing tho & even blowing pic up I cant quite see the RHS switch wiring. Do you have a link wire -across- both the switch terminals as well as a 0.1 cap? (I tried this with an led [both ways round to check its not this 1st] and it no worky you see, just a cap across tho nothing else). |

The LED is inline with the switch. RCA-wire-LED-switch. The cap is wired to both legs of the switch, (I suspect it's there to quiet a pop). (When I decided to do this, I stuck an LED into the plug at the amp, and sure enough it switches channels, and the LED lights up!) |

Ok I tried this on my PVY remote switch like yours with a MM 130 on the tremolo side and it doesnt work / switch isnt made. I guess the power is not enough via the wires to make the connection inside the diode or s'thing-? I tried 2 [working/tested] led's, each both way round too, and 2 different .1 caps across the switch.. tremolo just stays on. |

Rory, I just looked at the 130 schematics, and they don't show an LED like the RD series has. I'm sure Mike would know, but it looks like the 130's would only use a make or break switch, with no indicators. |

Right there. My mistake, I jumped into this mod without forethought, got the drill out too etc & just for vanity really.. a twinkly led f'switch is entirely not needed! oh well, it looks more 'serious' now at least! (I'll see if its led works from the PVY bandit 65 I still use alot). lesson learnt for me here. |

If you really want LED indicators, you could use DPDT switches, and stick a 3V supply in the pedal. Wire them to come on when the effect is engaged, and you're good to go. (Just make sure you shut them off when you turn off the amp, and the battery will last forever!) |
