Hi- virgin poster so please be gentle, you hairy apes. Ive just bought a weather-worn 130 115HD (btw what do these HD, RD etc etc stand for? cannot see mentioned anywhere) but compared to my humble Peavey bandit 65 the reverb is quite poor sounding. It decays yes, and no obvious 'wrong' sounds, but pretty swiftly and not very impressivley really in fact its nr not worth using: defo not a nice long clean spacey reverb sound like my cheapy little SS Peavey. The tanks are identically sized and look, but 3 letters in the code different. 4EB 2C 1B is the Peavey, and 4FB 3A 1B is the MM-130. Can I switch the PV into the MM and expect the better reverb sound? or is it not a simple as that? and /or a defo no-no idea. thanks, RoryC |

The input impedence is wrong for the PV to MM switch. Maybe the tank itself is bad. That tank is SUPPOSED to be a long decay tank in the MM. Have you opened it up to see if the springs are connected right and not touching or stretched out? Also, try switching the wires where they connect uner the chassis. If they are backwards, you won't get much. Also, HD stands for heavy duty. Yeah, stupid. Rd is reverb and distortion and rp is reverb and phazer. Mike. |

Hi Mike- I have opened up and all seems fine, just like the PV really. Can you remember which rca socket under amp is the -front- one? ie socket nearest front of amp? maybe the wires are wrong way round. Also is it possible to adjust impedance to match with adding resistors to the PV reverb tank? (rd/rp/hd.. cheers thats solved a mystery). Thanks RC |

Not really desired to change the resistance as it will change the characteristics of the tank itself. Don'tremember which is which-just swapp them back and forth to find which works the best. Won't hurt anything Mike. |
