Is there any harm in leaving the amp on Standby for extended periods? How long is too long? I have a RD112-100. It is solid state on the pre-amp section with chassis date of 1981. Tubes on the output stage are orginal, but seem to be OK, with only a slight rattle. It just sounds better if it has been on for a few hours in standby mode. I only play for about an hour at a time (I am no pro-player). |

It sounds like yu have some components that need heating up first. A few hours is no big deal though. My amps stay on and running for 4-6 hours when I'm playing so that's no big deal. |

Thanks Mike. I noticed the improved performance after leaving it on...unintentionally...for about 4 days in standby mode. I don't want to do that again, but a few hours...maybe. |
