Since I did not get any answers to my RevD to E questionI thought I'd see if anyone could answer this one. I just play at home so low volume! Can I use an attenuator to get tube breakup with a RD50 or does the SS portion not take kindly to it?

I used a power soak on my 100 rd and it worked fine, might suggest to put on the half wattage setting just for safety, and i didn't need to turn the amp wide open to get the desired effect,I didn't keep it because i could get some great tones at low volume out of mine ,but i was interested in seeing if i could warm the tubes up more for more tube tone ,wasn't enough to make it worth having on all the time ,and actually attenuators and soaks are more harmful to tubes then anything solid state.

Thanks very much for the reply!! Good to know someone is out there, (still hoping someone knows something about my rev question). I did not know that the 100 was also a SS front end. I was wondering the same thing about warming up the tubes. Since I have the original Sylvania's I guess I'll just try some different pedals!
Thanks!

Yes, I have used my Weber 100 watt MASS with the RD-50. It works fine :-) Also the RD-50 ( I posted in another post of yours Steve) can be modded to sound very good! Check out my RD-50 mods at www.myspace.com/goforthsound
click on the RD-50 samples.
