I just bought a Music Man RP 65- 112 and the phaser does not work. We just fixed the reverb, it was just a broken connection. I sure would like to have that phaser working too. Any ideas?}} |

I know this is an old post but did you ever figure out the problem? I have the exact same issue. Thanks, |

Old post but I guess it still pops up. I have NOT worked on any rp's but it looks like they use two LDR's to to sweep the inputs of a couple of IC's. First step is to make sure that the IC's are getting voltage to them in the appropriate spots. They use a couple of 1458 op amps there. Then you'll have to verify that the signal is passing down the line between op amps. Barring being able to trace the signal through, you are pretty much limited to either throwing parts at it or guessing. If those 1458's are plugged into sockets, you MIGHT try removing them and re-installing them in case they got corroded. Then, let's face it, the LDR's themselves could be bad. C28 could be bad, not letting the signal go through. There IS a trim pot to adjust the gain of the circuit feeding back. Not much help here unless you can track the signal through and see where it stops. Mike. |
