Need Help
Posted on Friday, June 25, 2004 - 10:03 pm:

Need help!

I need help finding MM original speakers because mine sound great...lots of lows with crunch.

They have heavy frames with big square magnets and are original never removed from the 412GS

Numbers are A12-GS 67-7820 on the speaker rim and 451222-2 on the cone nothing else..all black.

Any help Appreciated on where to buy some used ones or a trustful inexpensive reconer.

I would prefer to recone myself but cannot find the parts anymore. I used to do this all the time on my last rig.

Please post!
Thanks

From the same question elsewhere on this site:

You can decode speaker codes by looking at the info here:

http://www.webervst.com/codes.html

67-7820 should decode as:

67 = Eminence (Manufacturer)
7820 = Manufactured the 20th week of 1978

A12-GS is probably a model designation for:
Alnico 12" Guitar Speaker

The cone number is probably a cone code. I don't have any clue if this could be looked up.

I doubt you can buy these new anymore, but they certainly should be recone-able.

go to www.recone.com and there you will find a list of reconers.
