I just bought myself a Music Man 112 Sixty Five and I love it! But it did not come with a footswitch . I was wondering if anyone knew of any available footswitches (fender, etc.) that I could buy that will do the trick, or if not, if there's a schematic available so that I can build it myself. If possible, I'd like to have both the reverb and tremolo switches in one pedal. Thanks! |

That's just a make and break switch to ground(the two contacts) so that parts easy. Shielded cable, single break switch(unless you want to add an LED) and some RCA plugs. You'll need a cable with at least three wires, as you'll be shorting two circuits. |

Another option is buying the Fender footswitch that has two buttons and two RCA plugs (not the footswitch for reissue amps). Typically $40, this one is $30: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/produ ct?sku=420716X |

Awesome, that's very helpful!! So if I were to make my own, the switch would be off when the circuit is shorted, and on when I connect the wire from the cable to ground? I think I would like to add an LED, but that shouldn't be too complicated, should it? I could just add it to the circuit in the right place and everything should work, right? Also, does anyone know a place to get cheap shielded cable? On Mouser they only sell multi-conductor cable in big spools, and it's expensive!! But maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing in the wrong place... this is what I'm looking at: http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx ?N=254615+4294582174+4294453813+42946589 63&Ns=Pricing|0 Thanks again for the help, it is very much appreciated! |

If you don't mind the bad rap, RAdio Shack has 2 conductor shielded for around 7-8$ for a fifty foot roll. I use it all the time for building patch cords. Switch should be off when the two contacts are shorted, running when open. Most people who want and led will use double pole singl ethwow switches and power the led with a battery. Second pole is your switch side. A nine volt running just a couple of LED'S will last forever. I WOULD put a master power switch on it though, just in case. Adding and led to the circuit will induce distortion if used in the signal chain, unless you're just snatching power out of the bias supply or somewhere. I think that the rd's have a 16v source in there somewhere but you'd have to neck it down to 3-5 volts, and then would have to use another circuit for the power transfer. Batteries are cheap and easy. |
