I just got a screamin' deal on an HD-130 Reverb, with a 412-GS cabinet...for $300!!! Since I mainly play bass, I was really looking for an HD-130. The amp sounds great with a guitar, and pretty good with a bass. The guy I bought it from doesn't remember when it was re-tubed last, so I've got a set of Electo Harmonix EL34EH's and a 12AX7 on the way! Short of the cabinet actually being a guitar cabinet, are there any issues with playing a bass through the HD-130 Reverb amp? Is the "clean" channel on the Reverb compararable to the straight HD-130? Any recommendations or precautions? THANKS! |

Guitar speakers aint bass speakers, and the cab's porting may not be right for bass, like you said. Chris Squire, of Yes, used to play his Rickenbacker through a Twin Reverb. It sounded fantastic. |

There shouldn't be any issues that would prevent you from using the HD-130 for Bass. If it works for you (through bass speakers if you intend to push it above bedroom levels) then go for it! Steve
