My 25 year companion gave up! She's a RD 112 and there's big distortion and hum and no control of the vol.,gain, or tone pots. No guitar signal. Looked inside and noticed the 390 ohm 5 watters are very hot. Note: Filter caps and re-tubed and biased... I can do some work....but I need some ideas on this one. Voltages seem to be in order. Thanks, Johnny |

Sounds like it blew up man...1st thing the experts will ask you..."did you try different tubes?""... |

All electrolytics (not just filters) should have been changed by now. Any more than 10 years or so on an electrolytic, leaves you vulnerable. I'd focus on the Driver Board IC, then the driver transistors/resistors, with a re-build in mind. If the voltage drop across the 390's is over spec, the tubes may be fried too. Of course, your mileage may vary.
