I have a 212 HD 150 with the Cream Tolex ... bought if used but unplayed back in '90 or '91. Been a GREAT amp for me but I'm wondering about the approx year/or any history on this rather odd amp ... the different cover etc. I've done road gigs for 20 years and no one has seen one of these. It is HEAVY by the way! TOO heavy! (smile with a groan)Any insight would be appreciated. Wonderful sight by the way Steve. Thanks, Jim |

The HD150 series was first found in the 1980 catalog and was available until the company folded in late 1984. The white/cream "pinwal" covering with black grill cloth was the standard cosmetic treatment for the upscale models equipped with Electro-Voice EVM loudspeakers (cast frames, VERY heavy and virtually indestructible). I have to admit that a 212HD-150-EVM is relatively scarce, the EVM models were made across the entire line and probably are outnumbered by the standard black models by a factor of 10 or more. Steve

Hey Guys ... thanks for the info Steve. Mine doesnt' have the black cloth ... it's the 'standard' looking cloth. I'd be glad to send some pics ... couldn't find a way on the "photos" page ... should I just email them to the contact email address? Again, wonderful site and very much appreciated. Jim |
