210HD keeps crankin

About 9 years ago I bought an early, beat up (reliced) 210. It was in REALLY sorry visual shape, the speakers were blown but it sounded GREAT at low volume even with the bad speakers!

I put a pair of Celestion Truvox 1015 70w speakers (discontinued) and this bad boy was top shelf. I stopped using my Fender Twin for the most part because the 210HD is smaller, lighter, and more flexible than any comparable powered Fender I own.

Early this year hum from the filter caps erupted and I put it aside till I could get some time and last week I "FINALLY" got around to replacing the caps and made two new tolex covered plywood back panels which were missing when I got it.

EGADS! I REALLY missed this amp!!!

It's still in sorry visual shape, so my next projects are to replace that toaster oven type power light with a Fender Jewel style
(The neon lamp is OK but I like the jewel better. I wonder what the designers were thinking when they put that crap lamp in?)
recover it in new tolex, or maybe even tweed and new grill cloth. If these ever become collectible I know someone after I'm long gone will curse me but hey, that will give some kid a restoration project :-)

Had a 130 2-10 for a while

Had a 130 2-10 for a while before I crashed it(LOONNG story). Like it but really have more use for the 65 now. Actually, even IT'S too damned loud most of the time. Great amps. Wish I was playing more electric jobs to use my stuff. Mostly acoustic jobs lately. Actually been using a 15 WATT tube amp lately. It's been plenty for most of the jobs we've done. Mike.
