Hi everyone, my uncle purchaced this amp new from a music store in the Detroit area. I thought it was the late 70s but now I know that's not possible. He recently passed away and now I have the amp. As the story goes this amp he said was a prototype and not on the market yet. its a 410HD one fifty. it has a blonde or cream colored corduroy looking cover with a black grill cloth. It has reverb and a phaser built in. The phaser switch doesn't work and I have taken the amp out of the chassis to clean up. The pots crackle quit a bit on master and volume. I saw on the preamp circuit board a date of May something 81 written in marker. The speakers are very heavy duty huge magnets and as I remember VERY loud. Does any one know what I have? Where do I find the numbers? Just curious. I will post a pic after I clean up. Its been in a back room for 20 years and very dirty. Thank You in advance for any info. Update found the date code 06/81 is a sticker on the amp chassis. Does anyone have this type of amplifier? All the Music Mans I have seen are black with a silver grille cloth.

Pinwale tolex.
I have an RD100 with the same tolex, but would like to find some source to replace it! Seems very rare, and hard to find. I think it was an option, (don't know the years though).
Music Man 410HD
Thanks for the comment. I just scrubbed the Tolex with a cleaner and wire wheeled the rust from the corner protectors put new Mesa Boogie 6L6 GC tubes in it. Have A Pic
Music Man 410HD
New to this site already found something I did wrong. Im going to put the old tubes back in just to test the pots. Then its off to be rebiased with the new tubes. I went with Mesa Boogie because It seems they should be good quality looking at the price of their amps. If anyones had a bad experience with them chime in. Thanks looking forward to Jammin with this amp.
Good Idea
Hi Mr. Watt, It's always a good idea to use your old tubes when ringing out a rig. Your new Mesa tubes should work great when the bugs are fixed in your VERY NICE amp. Question, with it sitting around for so long, did you check the power supply filter caps for signs of aging?...pimples and bumps. If they're the originals, it would be worth your while to change them out. -mgriffin
filter caps
They look good from what I can see. Im not a tech but after reading this site I wish I was. You guys know your stuff. Going to bring it to a Amp Tech here. They are hard to find around here. My wife dosent want me to spend any money on it but I have too It was My uncles favorite amp for 10 years. I know enough to keep my hands away from capacitors tho!! Checked voltage when apart and could not find anything live and want to recap myself but after reading this forum im clearly not qualified. Any advise on a book or something I can learn amp repair let me know. I have a Fender SR and a Ampeg V4 that need rebuilds as well. Think If I can afford it going to get this MM recapped first.
Do you have EV's in there?
Hi staticwatt, it looks like you have a 410HD-150-EVM. The 'upgrade' amps with EV speakers were often sold with the pinwale covering. I bet that amp would be great for pedal steel too.

The are EV Force speakers.
HEAVY!!!
