This may be a one-of-a-kind or at least an extremely rare item as I have never encountered even as much as an article, a mention, or any image of this on the Internet. It's a store display of a Music Man single speaker combo amp representation of how the amp cabinet is constructed using actual thickness outer frame wood, and scaled-down speaker mounting face with speaker mounting threaded inserts, rear panel boards and full sized chrome corners and chrome handle supports with a heavy rubber handle. It was designed to show potential Music Man amplifier customers the highh quality wooden construction underneath the Tolex covering.
I purchased it from the oldest and only Fender authorized dealer in Santa Fe in 1974. The store owner had one amp in the store and was planning to order annd stock them in addition to the Fender line of amps. I talked him into selling me the display as I like miniature items and in this case being a guitarist, I also liked that aspect of it. I had planned all these years to design an amp that would fit in the cabinet (that's about the size of a two-slice bread toaster). I never got around to it and it was stored for years. It's a tiny bit dinged from being handled before I bought it (notthin horrible just adds that relic look), and i aged nicely through the years to a nice orange yellow hue. I just listed it on Ebay, but since they're coming back into production, I might contact the company management to see if any of the higher ups might want this for their office. It's a great bit of memorabilia from the year the first Music Man amps came out! This would make a great display piece for any Music Man enthusiast and I'd like it to go to a good home where it can be displayed and appreciated whiich I was unable to do (display it that is).
Note: The washers and screws were removed to show the dissasembled cabinet wooden parts. but the cabinet will come with the recessed washers and screws
