Not sure if this is a problem. In my 112rd the distortion channel is much gainier than the normal and distorts a lot sooner on the pre volume (This makes sense). I always ran the normal channel with deep and bright switches on ( although these days I would like just a little less bright) I always found that I couldnt use the distortion channel as the bass flubbed out (without the deep switch it was more usable) Is this normal for this model.?
I remember swapping a pristene RP112 65 for this slightly beaten up Rd wanting the extra functionality of a lead or volume boost but could only use the clean channel with a pedal or two. That being said it has given me 20+ years of fault free servise .
Just asking if anybody notices the same non use of second channel (with deep switch on ) or is there perhaps a fault that I could fix on this channel, opamp substitutions?
I must say that this amp was always a killer and got me through my idiot and ignorant days (ampwise)
Cheers

My 2 cents
In my opinion the filters on the RD series are pretty crappy compared to the 'premium' series MM. The deep filter especially will make the amp crap out on the dirty channel and let's face it - the distortion circuit is pretty crude compared to today's standards. The deep filter should have been placed before the power amp like on the 2 channel models. The annoying part is that you can't easily make the deep filter better as the button adds a circuit when it's in 'off' mode.
I can't tell if the 'value' amps from MM were aimed at people with cheaper, weak output guitars that needed the extra boost.
Just my 2 cents.

Well that makes sense, In a way that justifies 20 odd years of use without thinking of modifing . Are you calling the two channel amps the premium MM ?, never heard that distinction before. I was thinking of letting one go, my 210 65 or the RD 112 65.
I kinda think they are both fab in that mean clean machine way but both handle pedals well, the 210 65 (with 2x ragin cajun's) has trem as an extra and the RD has the not very usefull switchable channel. Oooooh Im being swayed by your Premium comment.
Mmm I was thinking of slightly mellowing the bright switch maybe I'll decide after.
Cheers and thanks for your 2 cents
