I've had an interesting experience recently while resurrecting a Music Man 75 head I'd like to share with you all.

First, let me say, I don't work for Caig Labs or the DeoxIT people - never have. However, I am a repairman (cameras, computers, amps and guitars) and have had some amazing results using DeoxIT to remove oxidation from electrical contacts. On a recent MM rebuild I, naturally, cleaned all the pots, switches and jacks with the appropriate aerosol version of their cleaner and had good results - no surprise. I later remembered I hadn't cleaned the tube pins so I did that and got noticeably better sound. Again, a few days later I realized the only thing in the chain I hadn't cleaned were the actual tube socket pin receptacles. I just did that with a tiny brush and some DeoxIT and saw the contacts brighten measurably. On listening to the amp, I was amazed at how much quieter and true the sound was.

I've fixed a lot of computer and camera problems with a good contact cleaner and frequently saved a lot of time and effort. With music equipment you can often hear the difference immediately.

Hope this helps someone out there. Best wishes.

Nice information, Thank's.
Away from DeoxIT, anykind of cleaning / brushing of sockets and tube pins should have the same results ?
I'will soon try that.
