Hi folks! This is my first post and I have to admit its darn good reading. I appreciate the info everyone is providing on these fine amps and have learned that my 210-Sixtyfive is a 1978. It was printed right on the speaker rims "7839", cool. Its the SS variety ie. non-12AX7, and equipped with the reverb/tremolo switch. I bought the amp and case ($600 Cdn)partly to help out a friend who needed the money and I have to admit that I secretly covetted his amp all along :}. So when the offer arose I basically didn't think twice and withdrew money on my credit card. I think I did good, really happy with this one. I checked the output tubes with my old Jackson-49 and found them to be in perfect harmony, Sylvania EL34's, original tubes I assume? As I mentioned, I appreciate all the info but found one thing lacking, at least, I haven't found it yet. When Leo et al. got these amps into production did they really make alot of them? I was wondering if anyone had production numbers by year and model. I don't see many around these days so I was curious as to how "rare" my amp actually is, seeing they only made them over a 10 year span. I'll try to dig up some pics later. I also own an early 70's Teisco 78-R 2X12 all tube amp, about 25 watts and bigger than the Music Man, lol. Its got the original red tolex and I covered the stained silverface with a tie-dye cotton. Looks cool but its still a noisy old amp. Anyway, I'm glad I found you guys! I'll be around. APG | ||

I have never seen production figures for any Music Man amplifiers. It would be most interesting to see if someone was still sitting on that paperwork or if it all went in the trash when the end came! |
