Restoring an RD50 110, this one came with a JBL E-110 speaker installed. The speaker must weigh 12 lbs! The amp is due for a full recap so I haven't wanted to push it too much, as such I can only say the JBL sounds nice at low volumes.
Found a NOS EV1-10 speaker for $200, have heard this is THE speaker for this amp (which is probably why MM offered it). Question is whether it is worth it to do the swap. Besides the two pound weight reduction, will these speakers sound significantly different?

Just my own experience has show that EV's are a little more "flat" than jbls. Jbl's seem to be a little spikey at times, and yes, I DO have some. They are actually what are in my factory jbl equipped twin. They can get pretty damned bright. if your amp is trebly, this might be the answer. Mike.
