I have a guy in the area selling his HD 130 Reverb head. He would trade me my 112 Rd 50 for it. I like my RD 50 but to me the limiter channel is useless. I play Bass and guitar so I figure the 130 may come in handy. Has anyone played both? Is the clean channel as nice on the 130 as it is on the 50? Thanks - Tom | ||

Need to know whether it's a 12ax7 version or not. For bass, the SS PI version is better. For guitar, the tube PI sounds better(to me). | ||

Thanks for the advice Mike, I will find out. Since the RD 50 has a SS PI, do you think it would close to the HD 130? | ||

Not really-I think the RD;s used 6L6's tha stay a lttle cleaner than EL34's. The old 6CA7's in the MM's were a little cleaner but there's a reason those Els break up more. Like I said, JMO/ | ||

Thanks Mike - I think you have helped me make my decision, I have always liked the sound of the 6L6's. I think I will keep the RD 150, probably just had a bit of GAS.... |
