Well, I posted about a HD 130 2x10 combo I have a chance to get.....and now another combo has popped up----a 2x10 HD 150 combo....in excellent to mint condition---with original footswitch and speakers.....
Can anyone tell me some about this later version higher wattage 2x10? I know it was I think 1980-84......
Value? Rarity? Value versusu the HD 130?
Thanks a lot!!
Keith
Anybody help here? Thanks!

I would love to know value as compared to the HD 130 of same 2x10 combo.....and being 6l6gc's, tone very different from the HD 130?
150
Looked at a 150 recently of the 2-12 variety. Nice amp. Had the sound. Don't really know if they are any more or less in value than the 130. MM's are pretty consistent right now. The only problem with the 130's and 150's is affording the tubes! The 150 that I had here ended up in the hands of one of the guys from Pure Prairie League, I believe. I honestly wouldn't count on actually GETTING 150 watts out of one, though I have never measured. And of course, you have to specify HOW the amp is. I mean, how much distortion AT that value. I would say it's HONESTLY more of a 120 watt amp at best. Maybe 100. Mike.
How does it sound tone wise
How does it sound tone wise say compared to the 130? There are different power tubes of course.......
The tubes don't make much difference
My 2 cents: The black label 2 channel combos are rarer than the earlier ones. By 1980 there were two different entry level lines of amps in addition to the 2 channel 'premium' amps. The later amps do sound different than the earlier ones, but it's not because of the output tubes themselves. The 75/150 series have a cool phaser effect and they have a clipping/limiter circuit that will allow you to get some fuzz without playing super loud. Add to that what we already suggested about a 2x10 amp's relative desirability. If you can get it at a reasonable price, go for it. You can always get your money back by selling.

Like Lars says, go for it.
Like Lars says, go for it. You can always get your money back unless they want crazy dollars for it. I took a boat load(Ok, a bunch) of pictures inside of the one I had access to. Nicely built, just like everything MM. Don't remember the features it had on it but it sounded good. Here's the one I was into.
I think I can get her for
I think I can get her for $350....good deal??
Sounds good to me
$350 is a good deal for *any* MM 1x12, 2x10 and 1x10 combo. Depending on your location and the particulars 350 is not bad for any MM combo. The old flaghsip 2x12 HD seems to command less proably because of the weight and size, the same is true for the 4x10 combos. Dunno where the 1x15 combos fit in - they're probably more of a jazz/pedal steel/ep sort of thing. If a 2x10 150 amp was available here for that kind of money, I would be in big trouble with the missus.
