I have a 212 Sixty-Five and I would like to buy the correct casters to fit in the sockets on the bottom of the amp. There are a couple of sets on Ebay right now, but I don't know what they are worth or what condition they are in. I figure that Music Man probably used standard casters that are probably available brand new today. Can anyone tell me if the casters on their amp have a manufacturer's name or model number on them? If not, could I get some details like diameter and length of the stem, diameter of the wheel, etc.? Thanks.

I have used the casters from my Fender twin in my MM 2-10 65 and they seem like the same item. Well built and they roll! You should be able to use the stock Fender casters. Mike

As I suspected, what appears to be the exact replacement casters are still available. Ernie Ball sells them, and I have found them for as little as $17.99 for a set of four. My local Menard's store has very similar one with grey wheels for $3.49 each, so it probably won't be too difficult to find them with black wheels for around the same price. I feel sorry for the guy who paid $30 plus $4.75 shipping for "vintage" casters on Ebay. http://www.onlinestagegear.com/pages-PA/ Amp-Casters.html

On the subject of new casters for MM amps. I have found a supplier in the UK for Ernie Ball casters : www.stringsdirect.co.uk . They stock No 6102 which should fit.

I yanked the casters out of a discarded office chair, and they fit my 210-65 just fine. No shipping charges!

I went to my local hardware store and found casters that did not use the exact holes, but work perfectly for $10 including tax. They cover where the orginal holes were perfectly and you would never know they were not original. My amp is so heavy I can't imagine it rolling away even though they don't have brakes. |

Casters
I bought my casters from audio source on ebay...$17.95 plus shipping, the wheel locks are a real plus and the casters are well made and fit perfectly...before that I was using an old set of casters pirated from an old Fender baseman cab that had seen their better days.
