Hi, folks. My dad Barry Chance was a member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band in the late 70s/early 80s. Music Man amps were a hot item back then, and dad was fond of the 210-HD models. He used them heavily in the Buffett days, and later on tour and in studio with a slew of other artists including Johnny Paycheck, Shelly West, Marty Stuart & others.
Leading up to his death in 2010, he had a ton of medical & financial trouble, and as a result, he sadly had none of his old gear from his playing days. I'm also a career player here in Nashville, so this always bummed me out, as you might imagine.
A few weeks ago, my 13 year old son happened to see some Facebook comments on a post where a guy mentioned having one of 'Barry Chance's old Music Man amps' from the Buffett era. After contacting him and getting a few details, I was able to confirm it was indeed dad's amp. I explained the sentimental value for the family, and he graciously agreed to a trade for another amp. I drove a few hours away to meet him, and I can't tell you how exciting it is to have this thing back in the collection; especially since it's here to stay as a family heirloom. My son also plays, so it's awesome to know I'll be able to pass it on to him.
From what I can gather from the date codes on the transformers & speakers, it's a '77 model. It has the 12AX7 PI tube & came with factory upgrade EV 10" speakers. You can see it behind him in a few shots in the YouTube video I'll share here. The other guitar player, Josh Leo, had a 212-HD you can also see next to the 210

It's so great that the guy
It's so great that the guy was willing to get the amp back to you.
Awesome story! While not
Awesome story! While not quite to that level, I re-acquired the SG I wish had never gotten away. I originally had a 210HD 130, and when I got the SG back, I browsed the want ads (yes, it was that long ago) and there was one for sale. I've had both ever since. I'm sure I saw your dad. While not a bona fide Parrot Head, I've long enjoyed Jimmy and the CRB!
