The reverb on my HD130 is dead. It's a 2x10 with the PI tube. I've checked the tank (seems O.K.), changed the tank, used a footswitch and then (thinking the switch might be dead)shorted out the connection with an alligator clip, but it's still dead. If I rattle the amp gently, I get the reverb crash sound, so there's a signal somewhere. Have I got a bad reverb pot (turning it from 0 to 10 makes NO difference!)? On a positive note, the vibrato works great. Thanks for any help. Mike

Check the RCA jacks or wiggle at the connectors. I'm in the same boat, only it's my reverb that's dead. I have a 112Rp100 w/2100-RP chassis and the board is dated 11-29-78. I took out the RCA jack(I can put them back in) because they were not making the best contact with switching and I did the reverb the same way thinking it would help. Nothing - not even the crash noise. On a side note, Do I bias at 25mv?

I had this problem, changed a .015uF poly cap (C24 on the schematic). This fixed it. The cap in my amp was a big brown Mallory poly rated at 200V. Looking at the schemeatic I can't see why it had to be a 200V rated cap. Even so, I replaced it with an even bigger 600V Sprague of the same value, just to make sure. It works fine again now. BTW, I found this fix using google. -Mark |
