i bought this amp around 1996, the reverb was very weak and not very good sounding and some day around 1998 the reverb stoped working.
the acutronics reverb that i found inside my amp is 8BB2A1B i guess, its very hard to read it, but i'm sure its not 4FB3D1B wich is according to acutronics the original MM reverb.
i'm in spain, so i'm wondering where can i buy the real one, and i'm not sure if its going to work at all...
i tried disconnecting the foot switch and nothing happens, also i tested it with just a straight cable from output to input, and the amp feeds more guitar as i rise the reverb pot...
any ideas?
thanks!

THE 8BB2A1B IS A SMALL REVERB TANK AND SHOULD BE THE RIGHT ONE. SOME OF THE EARLY MODELS THAT USED THE EL34 TUBES HAD A REVERB TANK 8FB2A1B. THIS WOULD BE THE ONLY TWO TANKS THAT WOULD WORK. THAT 4FB3D1B IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR ANY MUSICMAN AMP. THAT IS A LONG TANK, OVER 12" LONG. AND THESE TANKS WERE NOT USED IN THE RD/RP AMPS. MOJO HAS THE 8BB2A1B REVERB TANK. THEIR E-MAIL ADDRESS IS: WWW.MOJOTONE.COM OR YOU CAN CALL THEM AT 1-800-927-6626. HOPE THIS HELPS.

well, now that i checked the mojo site i realize that the reberb inside my amp could be the right one... it has 2 springs, but anyway, its absolutely dead.
i don't want to buy from america, because i bought some parts from stew-mac some time ago and when i got them here i ended paying 3 times the price... i found some place in germany where they charge about $60 or some for an accutronics tank.
i don't know the age of my amp, but it has 2 6L6GC. by the way how can i find the exact year of my amp? the serial number is DP 08848.
thanks for the feedback!!

well, i opened the beast and found a sticker with "81 / 9" so that's it. seems that exept for the reverb all is ok.

Hi Hari

I had some problems with the reverb on my 112 RD100 a while back. On close analysis of the reverb unit, I noticed that one of the output wires was disconnected. For me it was an easy fix. However, Steve Kennedy posted the following on my thread. It might be of some assistance:

Try this trick...

Take an RCA phono - to - RCA Phono cable and connect the Reverb In & Reverb Out jacks directly together. Turn the Reverb level control down all the way to "0".

Turn ON the amp, verify that you can play through it normally without reverb. If the reverb footswitch has the Reverb turned ON and the circuitry is working, you should be able to dial in MORE guitar signal when you increase the Reverb level control. If you can do this, but it doesn't work at all when your cable and reverb tank are connected, then your tank or cable is bad.

If turning up the control makes no difference in either footswitch position, then disconnect the footswitch and see if THAT makes any difference.

The footswitch turns OFF the reverb signal by basically shorting the Reverb output signal to ground when the switch closes. If it is stuck in this position, then you will never hear the reverb signal. Disconnecting the Reverb footswitch will help determine if you have a stuck switch.

If this is not the case and there is no additional guitar signal when the Reverb control is turned up, then it is most likely that either the signal drive TO the reverb tank is dead, or the signal input FROM the reverb tank is dead.

In either case, the amp will require some sort of repair as a component has died or there is a short in the system.

thanks for your help!, i've been out for a while...
yes, i did all that you said, but seems that is the tank, everything else works fine. i think i'm going to buy a new one 'cause i don't trust anybody to even touch my amp, so i better change it and enjoy a new reverb. thanks for your post!
