I have 4 MM amps (HD 130 212, HD 150 212, HD 130 115, and 65 410). I like the surround effect achieved from playing through multiple amps at the same time. I do so through a Voodoo Labs Amp Selector pedal. It really gives a cool sweeping effect, especially with different effects signals (especially delay) passed to each amp. Having four amps plugged up with my pedal board power supply takes up quite a bit of room on the power strip though. I've noticed what Music Man called the "AC Convenience Receptacle" on the back of all of my amps. It's basically just a female outlet socket all the way to the left of the back panel. Music Man describes this as an "unswitched and unfused AC source to be used to power accessories" and to be sure to "observe the 300 watt rating." Btw, my 65 410 has a 500 watt rating. My question is, can these AC convenience receptacles be safely used to daisy chain power to all 4 amps? This would mean that I could plug one amp directly into the wall, bypassing the power strip, and then daisy chain the required power for the other 3 amps off of the first. I tried it earlier tonight with my HD 150 plugged into the wall and my 65 410 plugged into the back of the 150 and it did work. I just want to make sure that I'm not overloading anything and that this is what that outlet was meant for. We all know how expensive and terrible it would be to blow a PT in one of these amps... The problem with that is that you are running 3 amps that pull around 4 amps each(for the 4 tube versions) and then running the main amp too. That's all being run though basically one 16 ga or so cord powering the main amp. That pretty much. If you are going to run four amps, you should get a HEAVY stip. Maybe 14 ga or more. Mike. | ||

AC receptacle...
Hello, I have a MM 210/65 with the accessory receptacle on the back panel, but apparently the receptacle is just plain worn out.
I want to replace it with the same shape and size as the original one that's in there.
Can anybody please tell me where I can get this part ? I could change over to the type that used in Fender amps, ie, the round style 3 prong receptacle, but I'd rather keep my amp as original as possible.
