I noticed a post from an earlier date about changing coupling caps for some added bass response. Has anyone modded a 210-65, 12AX7 PI, with any degree of success to warm this amp up a little. I've done tube and speaker swaps and adjusted the bias to different settings, settling on 23. These all helped some, but it's still kind of thin. (Wish I had a schem. that wasn't so blurry) Thanks for any input. | ||

Well, I've got to say that my 210-65 is a little thin but honestly, have never done anything about it. I use it mainly for recording so it works for me. Mine actually breaks up awful early too but since I don't usually use it out much, it also works for me. Changing the coupling caps will increase bass, if that's what you want. Changing the final cap before it dumps into the finals(like at the deep switch) to something like .22 will change it up or change c9 and c18 to 2mF will increase the bass. Mike. | ||

I've got some PIO .22's I could try in that spot. I've also got some PIO .33's I could swap out on channel 2. I noticed some .22's and .33's there, but it may not make any difference just changing to the same value. Experiment I guess, although it's a little more delicate on these boards. If I could warm this thing up some it may compensate for it's weight. I know it's not a twin, but it's still kind of heavy to carry up from the basement. Thanks Mike | ||

I put weber cali 10's in mine. Geez, is IT heavy. Another reason it doesn't go out much> Mike. |
