okay, i've got this HD-130 210 and it has jbl speakers in it. One of the speakers does'nt really make any sound but just kind of softly buzzes. first of all, are the speakers stock and secondly is it worth it to get the speaker repaired or is it even repairable.

It sounds like you might have a blown speaker if the wiring is all correct. JBL speakers were never offered as a standard factory option to my knowledge. JBL speakers are so well made that they should be WELL worth getting reconed if they are physically in good condition (no bent frames). Steve

Will 10" JBL alnicos work great in my 210-65? Or are we limited to Eminence, Weber, Fane or EV... not in that order, but these are the ones that are most mentioned. What do people here think of JBL's?

if you already have jbls - as long the power of both speakers exceeds 65w and wire them up in 4 ohms, with the ohm switch selected at 4ohm you will have a sweet little combination. JBLs are worth big $ so they must be doing something right

although if you are about to go out and buy new speakers i would a) dont, get your eminences rebuilt or b) read the discussions on speakers carefully on this site, yes there are plenty to choose from, and jbl's are highly recommended as well as other brands each with individual characteristics and qualities. My 2c anyway.

I thought I would put in 10" JBL's while I get the originals checked over and reconed. I'm finding it's hard to find 10" JBL's so it limits the choices to the other companies. You can find 12" more easily. So I'll see. I just thought my MM210-65 deserved a nice set of JBL's. |
