Whjat do you folks use to recondition the vinyl covering of MM amps. I used a warm mild soap solution today to clean it well, wondering if somethinglike Armour All is good or bad for the vinyl? | ||

Armour All cleans and conditions vinyl Tolex-type coverings well. It won't heal all problems, but it is probably the best thing to use to make an amp look its best and promote extended life for the covering. | ||

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. I have seen a number of Armor-All'd car dashboards turn blotchy, with the finish destroyed. Could be the Texas heat or UV- but a friend that does auto detailing also refuses to use it on interiors for the damage he feels it can do. About 10 years ago I switched to NuVinyl- my 112-65 looks like new. It has a little more gloss than AA, but it doesn't leave a greasy film like AA, and seems to last longer. Murphy's oil soap is a great thing to use to clean Tolex- it's very mild, has no nasty solvents. |
