I have a Music Man 65 head and 115rh cab. I play bass and lemme tell you, this is a GrEAT amp. a sound man at a show suggested that i plug into the 2nd input of the bass channel (as i always do), and run a cord from the 1st input of the bass channel, to the input of the "normal" channel. apparently this combines the two channels and makes more volume. i tried it and it does get louder and better. But i want to know more about this. Am I hurting my amp or speaker? Am I killing the tubes? I just want to sound good. Any suggestions for me would be great. Thank you.

People have been doing this for decades with BF Fenders, 4 input Marshalls, etc...should be no problem, but because of the number of gain stages involved (each one inverts the signal in Fender-style amps) you may want to listen for phase differences...

Other than that, as far as I know, if you like it, do it.

Thanks Ken. What would a phase difference typically sound like? When i do this everything sounds great.

Examples: bass (bottom) could drop out, overall volume drops, sounds like you're playing thru a tin can...

If your 65 doesn't have reverb, you should be ok
