Is anyone aware of an enhanced reverb mod worth doing here or if that's what I really want should I just spring for a reverb tank like the '63 Fender RI or Kendrick models?

Uh- for you techs, "spring" wasn't a pun- but I'll take it

Anyone want to give this question (above)
a shot? Or is the general concensus that the reverb is just fine? My amp is truly in primo condition-so please, if you're a good tech or possibly an EE, any thoughts? One guy listened to it and said- nah, that's just transistor technology-- you're asking too much of it--you're
accustomed to tube pre-amp reverb. Well- perhaps there's a continuum here that no one's willing or able to talk about...(it's analgous to the same approach I generally take re; digital distortion vs. vastly superior -musically-to-the-ear analog distortion).

Anyway- reverb improvement; I'd have the modification done if I can find a thoughtful, qualified opinion to provide direction out there
need advice! Anyone? Thanks guys. Marc

Sorry about the apparent inattention....

1. I have been really busy and have not had much time to devote to the site in recent weeks.

2. This IS a "prototype" message system that will become the full-time replacement of the current one as soon as I can swing it. Until that time, it is not directly accessible from a "button" on the site so fewer people know of it or have saved a link to it.

3. I personally have little experience with reverb circuit improvements so I can't really add much outside the ordinary "put a tube in there" response.

However, thanks for using this system! You might get some more thoughtful responses when it becomes easier to find!

Hi Mark. Is your reverb weak or distant thus needing repair or do you just want more reverb?
I repaired a MM amp with weak reverb and the problem was a bad cap in the reverb circuit.
What a difference it made!
I have been working on a lot of reverb stuff lately, perhaps I can help.

If there is nothing wrong with your reverb circuit and you just want to add a little extra sparkle to your reverb, solder a 0.1 microfarad gumdrop-style cap from the wiper of the reverb level pot to c34 where it joins the reverb pot. If you want to get fancy, add a switch for the cap that adds or removes it. Please let me know what you think of this mod... Cheers!

I have never actually tried this, so I cant really verify the results, but.....
The reverb tank could be exchanged for a longer decay.
as I recall the tank they put in there was a medium decay tank, so you could order a long decay tank from accutronics, just make sure the input and output impedances are the same.

I had a customer mention that he was unhappy with his reverb, on his HD130 and that was the answer I came up with.

I haven't tried this because I think my 100rd has enough reverb but couldn't a guy replace the pot with one of a differnt value ,like i mean i think mine has a 25 k in it wouldn't changing that to a 10 or 5 or even a 100 ,250, 500k ..ect change the tone and how the reverb reacts ?
