I'm going to build a single 12" extension cab, I will connect it to my 210-75. I guess I'm going to need a 4 ohm speaker? 2 x 4 ohm speakers connected in series = 8 ohms..right? The cab will be the same dimensions as the amp with a closed back. What's a good speaker? I'm looking for something to compliment the 2 x 10, plus a little bit extra for outside gigs.

yeah but if i was you i would build 2x12"@4ohm or single 15" at 4ohm a single twelve would suck and your amp will ook shit sitting on something that isnt as wide as itself. stick with an MM design and model you cab of that.

I was going to build it the same size as my amp It was a toss up between a single 12" or 2 X 10". I can't be bothered lugging around a 2 X 12. Check out this single 12" MM

Go for the single twelve. It will add some depth to the old girl and give it some well needed body. If I had room, I'd do the same but with my 2-10 65, my bass rig(1-15 and 2-10's in two cabs) and my keyboards(yeah, I'm busy) plus my pedal board, there's not much room left in most of the places we work. Well, my personal favorite right now is the Weber California series because they will take a lot of power and stay pretty clean and I let the junk on the floor do the distorting and processing. If yo are looking for and earlier growl, they have a chicago series and a texas series that should fill the bill. Ted is a nice guy too so you can call him and just ASK him which one, depending on what you play and what you want it to sound like. try doing THAT with JBL or Eminence! I have the Cal 10's in my 2-10 and they honk> Mike

fair call a small 2 12 cab wouldnt be that hard i carry my 2 12 rh (size of a quady) with ease its easier than carrying and amp, it fits in me gemini (chevette) and it doesnt have a handle horses for courses good luck man i dont mean to dis and that single 12 is sexy!

Cool I'm in a similar boat as Mike, 1/2 a P.A. and sometimes drums in my wagon don't leave much room. I checked out the Webers, they will be expensive with shipping to Australia but from what I've heard will be worth it. On with the job I guess. Cheers Rich

maybe look at some vintage speakers and getting them reconed sometimes people are selling the old eminence from this site i can recommend music swap shoppe in melbourne for old speakers and total recoil for the best rebuild around |
