I've been looking on the Mojo musical site and cannot decide if the the Tolex on my HD-130 Reverb is closer to Fender Vintage, Marshall or Marshall Elephant. Any thoughts? My 212RH cab is stripped and bare, ready for new Tolex and grill cloth (to fit over a replacement frame I made). Sadly, the original grill has been lost to the sands of time... Thanks, Doug

If you can get a Tolex that matches or approximates the standard Fender "vintage" pattern of the 1960's you'll probably have what you need for a Music Man. The "modern" Fender Tolex is a coarser pattern (not bad looking, just not a match to the original) and the Marshalls are even farther from that look in my experience. I have a Marshall JCM800 2-12 combo (and used to have a full stack of the same in my younger years) and its Tolex looks more like leather grain than the original Fender tolex. since this is from january... i'm guessing you've tolexed the amp by now! but i just wanted to throw this out there... i used the "TRAYNOR STYLE" tolex from www.fliptops.net on my hd-130 and it worked out great. looks highly original!
