Hi,
I have just sharpened the spam filtering for the site. We use mollom for this purpose, which is a free and powerful tool for this kind of sites. Of course, one has to be careful when sharpening the filters, because they should be unseen for the normal users, but strict when it comes to spammers.
There are more tools available, which can be added. I will watch this closely. :)
