I've got a 210 65 in great working condition.
The other day I noticed one tube was not glowing and remained cold, while the other one was glowing and hot.
Do I have a broken tube?
What are the best EL34's for this amp? I like warm and beefy tones.
Is it dangerous to replace the tubes myself, without rebias? Do I have to rebias when replacing tubes?
You COULD have a bad tube but
You COULD have a bad tube but you ALSO could have a loss of bias voltage to pin 5 (IF it has the PI tube). Or a bad driver if SS driver. Either way, it needs to be looked at. You Should NOT just replace tubes without checking bias voltage. You COULD end up frying brands new tubes. Better safe than sorry. Mike.
